They have 3 straps going across the front and a strap going round the back of the heel with a buckle to do this up. The leather straps are a dark brown colour. The footbed has a velvet feel and the sole unit is very flexible. All in all a very good quality sandal. They are a uk size 3, European 36, ladies USA 5
